Responsibilities and Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote our products or services both in the USA and in Canada
  • Develop and organize CO-OP packages, materials, and events
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities
  • Analyze data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Manage digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, and website content
  • Create and optimize online advertising campaigns
  • Coordinate, under the direction of the Publisher or senior staff, along with the in-house and contract designer for the creation of all advertising materials
  • Coordinate with the publicist on media events and press releases
  • Assisting in booking trade shows and conferences, and organizing materials required
    accordingly. This may require some heavy lifting and sorting of books and materials
  • Assisting with book reviews and award applications as required
  • Compiling comprehensive lists of media hits for distribution channels
  • Have a keen awareness and sensitivity surrounding Indigenous issues, protocols, etc. and/or a strong willingness to learn
  • As Medicine Wheel Publishing evolves, other related tasks may be assigned from time to time.

Skills:

  • The successful candidate would have 2-5 years of marketing experience
  • Be able to work independently and with a team effectively and efficiently
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in digital marketing techniques and platforms
  • Have excellent organizational skills
  • Budgeting skills to effectively allocate resources for marketing campaigns
  • Knowledge of advertising principles and practices
  • Ability to conduct market research and analyze consumer behavior
  • Familiarity with email marketing strategies and tools

This position is best suited to someone who is outgoing and enjoys networking and building relationships.

Some flexibility with scheduling may be requested, including the occasional evening or weekend event, and opportunities for out-of-town travel.
